The Freedom-Fighters

They're a group of people who sees what others don't, and act where others won't!
They're a group of people who became free because they choose not to fear.
For it is only when you go past your fears, will you feel free!
The freedom-fighters are those that submits to Him alone

The freedom-fighters are not a group created by the hands of men.
They're not another organization or association.
Instead they closely follow the route that has been laid down by a perfect example.
A revealed example.

The freedom-fighters fear none other than their Lord and His promises.
The freedom-fighters fear the war He wages.

The freedom-fighters choose not to succumb to men-made laws and men-made ways.
Instead, they analyzes and seek His guidance, and His guidance alone.
They choose a path that shall liberate mankind, and not one that brings about inequality.
They choose a path in which substance supersedes surfaces.
They choose a path where freedom is guaranteed by their Lord alone.

The freedom-fighters are the Muttaquns and the Mu'minun!
Ones, whose heart He chooses to contain Him.
Ones who are fearless and yet fearful.
Ones who prostrate and liberate.

May Allah bless us, and protect us, when there will be no protection but that of His :)
Ameen Ya-Rabb!

There is a ship...

There is a ship...
It sailed the sea.
It's loaded deep, as deep can be.
But not as deep, as the love I'm in!
I know not how, I sink or swim.

Now, that's what we call a weekend!

The weekend was awesome!
Abit of everything...
Friends, good food, a good book, good company and stimulating discussions.
A tad of pain and deep reflections.
All in all, a deeper realization of Allah and His miracles.

Saturday started off with an interesting business discussion with a new-found friend over breakfast.
Who thought I was 'a lil tiger' :D grrr!
The 2nd half of the day was spent in the kitchen.
Food prep for the 'freedom-fighters' that was to head over our place for dinner.
The menu (my part, not inclusive of mum's): Casserole and Spaghetti-Sup!!
Alhamdulillah, that got done by 3.30pm.
Was able to then splurge in a little reading. Weeee :D
SAQ's Root Islamic Education. Original!
Was he able to squeeze tears out of me with his citations.
For those reading this blog, check the book out!
If you're on a path looking for a guide, and if you've question the reality that's been shoved into your face, and if you feel there's a tad more to the meaning of the 'deen' than what's portrayed, You'd find delight in the book!
You'd even find solace in knowing that you're not alone.
And that, there's a practical way around it.
What's beautiful is that, the way has been laid down by the Prophet s.a.w himself.
And how glorified were they, the Prophet s.a.w and his Sahabahs.
For me and M, the book affirmed that what we've theorized, were not mere theories!!
May Allah bless you dear :)

The 'freedom-fighters' arrived for a congregational Maghrib.
The beautiful sight of their prostrations fill my heart :)
A beautiful dinner entails, followed by a beautiful forum.
Today marks a few newcomers to the team: Hikmah and Jeman, Arshad and family and Zaynab.
Welcome guys!
InsyAllah, the path shall be one of victory!
We ended after midnight.
After dropping the girls back, did abit of Mr. K :)
Swooned :)

Sunday, went to see some bed-ridden patients for the project.
How fragile is life I thought, when I saw them.
And how beautiful the way He structured the society.
If only men bowed down to The rules.
But verily, men forget.
Men forget all the time!
May Allah hold us all tightly, for there's no strength besides that of His.
Ameen.

Came home, meeting with Hairul, headache!
Slept it off..

Peace be upon all.

Rage Against the Machine

Prof Umar once said, there's something sinister about someone wanting to give you something that already belong to yourself!

That is exactly what the man-made laws are trying to do.
Give us our birth right - Freedom!
Under their many fancy names - the freedom to choose.
What one fail to see is the limited assortment ;)
Or, worst, from just one choice.
"You're either with me, or you're not!"
Tho, you could go out to choose me.
How peculiar!
What difference is it, be it green or blue?
A box is a box!

Rage against the machine.
No one gives anyone their birth-right!!
It was by the mercy of their being, their Lord alone!

I was born free!
To adhere to Him alone, not man's machineries.
My responsibility is to search. Not succumb to majorities.
Because what good is the majority, if most of them are lost?
Would I too be among the lost?

Our beloved Prophet s.a.w said:

"Do not be a mere imitator with no firm determination. You say, 'I am with the people. Should people do good, so do I. And if they do evil, so do I'.
But school yourselves. If people do good so should you. But if they do evil shun their evil deeds."

One should question oneself often, about one's position.
About the position of one's soul.
About one's prostration, and its direction.
Mere following, without once in awhile looking up to outside the crowd, could lead one into a direction one never intended to go!

I do not wish to realize, when I die...that I have not lived.
That I have not search and decided.
That all I did was succumb to majority.
I choose to live.
And I choose to adhere to what He alone prescribes and enjoin.
Otherwise, I have not lived!
Otherwise, I might have sold my soul to a power I never should have, through the wrong direction for which I prostrated!
And Allah warned me against the price.

"And vile indeed was the price for which they sell their soul, if only they knew!"
(Al-Baqarah, 102)

May He give us the strength and be merciful on our souls.
Peace be upon all of us, InsyAllah.

Thot of the day

Came across this. Quite a witty, thought-provoking line.
Here it is to be shared:

"....If we all go for the blonde and block each other, not a single one of us is going to get her. So then we go for her friends, but they will all give us the cold shoulder because no on likes to be second choice. But what if none of us goes for the blonde? We won't get in each other's way and we won't insult the other girls. It's the only way to win. It's the only way we all get a girl..."

United Colors of Hearts

We can be a myriad different colors on the skin.
Black, white, yellow...and gradients in between.
But the heart...is a general red!

And He exalted the significance of the heart, time and time again in His book.
[ (22:46), (7:179), (9:87), (58:22)....an extensive list ]
(Surely for a reason none would have the power to refute)
Ironically, not the mind, as the 21st century imposes!
But the heart!
For it is in what you 'feel' and what your heart commands you to do, that something is done.
Either to a perfection or less.
This is not surprising.
They say "healf-hearted", ironically not too much attention on a "half-minded"!

The heart is the adhesive of a society.
And as opposed to the barbaric relics of 'professionalism', all of us are humans.
Not when you feel not the predicament of another, will you be able to strive hard against or for something, nor will it enable you to go the distance.
And to feel and love and want for another, what you want for yourself, is the glue that binds.

And how difficult is that?
For a start, He has already united the color!
The United Colors of Hearts.

This entry was inspired by the many beautiful colors in my life.
All of which had a general RED :)

Glory

Allah hu akbar, Allah hu akbar, Allah hu akbar!
Allah is Great, Allah is Great, Allah is Great!

Laa ilaah ha illa Allah, hu Allah hu akbar
There is nothing worthy of worship but Allah the Great

Allah hu akbar walillah hil hamd!
Allah is Great and to Him alone belongs all Praises

Allah hu akbar kabeera
Oh Allah, You are the Greatest

Walhamdulillah hi katheera
And all Praise is to You alone

Wa Subahana Allah hi bukratan wa aseela
And Glory be to You in the morning and in the evening

Laa illaha illa Allah hu walaa na'budu illa iyya hu mukhlisin na lahuddeen
There is nothing worthy of worship except You, and I am sincerely on Your path!

Walauu karihal kaafirun
Regardless of the disbelievers, for whether they shall hate me!

Laa ila ha illaAllah hu wahdah
There is nothing worthy of worship except You oh Allah

Sadaqa wa'dah
And True are Your promises

Wa nasara 'abdah
And it is You who has made Your servant victorious

Wa a'aazza jundahu wa hazamal ahzaa bawahdah
And it is You who has made Your soldiers mighty, and defeated Your enemies

Laa ilaah ha illa Allah, hu Allah hu akbar
There is nothing worthy of worship but Allah the Great

Allah hu akbar, walillah hil hamd
Allah is Great and to Him alone belongs all Praises

Al-Mu'minun

Al-Mu'minun, or, the believers, is a Quranic verse, which describes the characteristics of the mu'minun. The verse contains 118 ayat, and the characteristics are discretely placed amongst them:

1) 2: Those who offer their Salât earnestly
2) 3: Those who turn away from dirty, false, evil vain talk and what He has forbidden
3) 4: Those who pay the Zakât
4)
5: Those who guard their chastity
5) 8: Those who are faithfully true to their Amanât and to their covenants
6) 9: Those who strictly guard their five compulsory prayers
7) 57: Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord
8) 58: Those who believe in the Ayât of their Lord
9) 59: Those who join not anyone as partners with their Lord
10) 60: Those who give, with their hearts full of fear of their return to their Lord
11) 61: Those who race for the good deeds and are foremost in them

11! Just like someone told me! He then concluded the verse with the following:

102: Then, those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, they then are the successful!

InsyAllah.

Peace

Selamat Tinggal Ramadhan!

My friend said yesterday, "Sayunya, Ramadhan dah nak pergi!", and that's when it hit me, what a wonderful month it was!

All the demons were tied by the tying of the nafs. And I felt safe, knowing that, every hunger and thirst pang was purely for His sake. I felt close to Him, more than I've ever been. I felt Him watching closely over my every move, my every thought. And I could proudly claim (as things get a tad more difficult towards the end of the day), that Ya Rabb, this is for You! Only for You! So, watch over me, watch over my every move and my every thought, and my very being.

I pray He accepts it from me, from all of us that endeavoured the journey :) May He be pleased with us all, Ameen.

As we say goodbye to you Ramadhan, it is with an earnest hope that we shall meet again, a little closer to Him, a little better guided as human beings.

I shall miss you, til we meet again, insyAllah :)

Broken Heart

Supposedly, I'm invincible, unscratchable, simply because I keep my heart protected.

That's childish.

How we end up feeling at the end of the day, is a result of a concoction of hormones, secreted by the many different glands in the body. Did you know, these glands and hormones are His army? Have you never seen it from that perspective?

How then does one explain the various different outcomes of people surviving one same ordeal? I am reminded of a quote by Imam Al Zarnuji:

"Small things are great in the eyes of the small, and great things are small in the eyes of the great"

The feeble scoffs these off as 'matters of perspective'. They then fail to question, well, who then provides the different perspectives?

My Lord, it is to you I pray, and it is from You alone does one garner any strength! Help me forget him, if that is the best for me! Only You know what's best for me, and only in Your hands do I leave my life in.

Only You can heal my broken heart. Only You can provide the elixir for my broken heart.

Ameen

Why I Decided to Blog!

I woke up this morning, having a problem recalling what yesterday was like, let alone the day before.

I thot, wasted!

I remember the last few days being tough and long, except I have a problem recalling why? This is a common attribute of mine (for future reference!) ;)

Then this phrase came to mind (point of inspiration):

"A rolling stone gathers no moss"

That would be a tragedy! I'm a rolling stone!! I'm constantly on the move! My life is a jet! At some point, I would like to be able to reflect on how I felt, when! How I pulled thru? What was the strength? So I could learn from history, if not the world's, then at least, my own!

Thus the reason for the blog (which, I'd have to discipline myself to ;) )

Apart from that, Allah said:

"Fazkuruni az kurkum (2: 152)"
(Remember me, and I will remember you)

I hope to share some of the things I go thru in a day, where He touched my life on a personal basis :) and probably then, inspire others to remember Him, insyAllah :)

So, if you're interested, then stay! Bookmark this page! I'm an ordinary girl, thus the title of the blog.

Til then, peace be upon all of you!
