If one asked me what life is, I'd say its decisions after decisions.
This blog entry for example, was a result of me deciding to write it before doing my Asr prayers.
The question that entails this notion would then be, what made one decides on a thing as oppose to another?
To me, its precedence.
And if one examines closely, most of the junction one encounters is a decision between a Divine calling and oneself,
Again, taking this entry as an example...was a choice between succumbing to my impetuousness to write what I had in mind and the prayer!
It was a choice I made, to which I am answerable for. (Yikes!)
At every juction, its one's precedence that decides for how one decides,
Allah (and what He orders) or my impetuosness?
Allah (and what He orders) or this man I love?
Allah (and what He ordains) or this stack of cash, this car I long for?
In a world where what we want, is only what we want...until its ours,
He enjoins the following prayer:
"Walatakilna ya mawlana fi jami'i harakatina, wasakanatina, ila Ahadin siwak"
"Let not anything but the desire for Your presence besiege my desires, in my wake and in my stillness"
Because verily, what one Lovest well is the only thing that remains, the rest is dross!
Ameen.
